A project to eliminate an unpopular fencing barricade atop the Wyoming Valley Levee in Edwardsville has received a second grant needed to complete the work, officials said Wednesday.

Weather permitting, a $650,150 project to stop erosion creeping toward part of the Wyoming Valley Levee wall in Wilkes-Barre should begin in mid June, Luzerne County Flood Protection Authority officials said during Tuesday’s meeting.

Luzerne County Council may vote next week to seek outside assistance on the best reuse for the state-owned White Haven Center campus in Foster Township.

At the opening of her monthly division report last week, Luzerne County Manager Romilda Crocamo called for respect toward county workers.
