The Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas is seeking funding to add eight full-time positions in 2026, county Court Administrator Paul Hindmarsh said Monday.

Luzerne County lost approximately $855,000 in interest earnings to date on funds it had to advance to county human service agencies during the continuing state budget impasse, according to a release from Colleen Connolly, the county’s new media content strategist/planning and transportation coordinator.

Luzerne County’s Election Bureau recently entered into a $23,000 contract with EasyVote Solutions to implement a campaign finance report database, according to an online posting.

Luzerne County voters will select five county council members in the Nov. 4 general election, and there are 10 contenders.
