SHIPPENSBURG — Sophomore Natasha Mihalko won the triple jump and two Lake-Lehman relay teams took titles Saturday during the 93rd annual Jack Roddick High School Invitational at Shippensburg University.

The meet drew more than 100 teams from around the state to the site of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Track and Field Championships on Memorial Day weekend.

Mihalko won the Class 2A triple jump with 35-6 ¾.

Sophia Dabsheh, Madison Brdaric, Morgan Patla and Abby Paczewski won the 3200-meter relay in 9:57.48.

They helped the Lake-Lehman girls finish fifth in Class 2A with 50 points.

Greenwood outscored Fairfield, 87-82, for the team title.

The Lake-Lehman boys finished seventh in the standings with the help of a 1600 relay win by Floyd McRoy, Abe Dabsheh, Nate Salus and Conor O’Brien.

Paczewski and Brdaric also scored in individual events for the girls. Paczewski was fourth in the 400 while Brdaric was fifth in the 800.

Lizzy Blaski finished third in the 300 hurdles and fifth in the 100 hurdles.

Sarah Salus was fifth in the javelin.

Lake-Lehman’s Daymond Kovaly and McRoy placed in both boys hurdles events. Kovaly was second in the 300 and fifth in the 110. McRoy was fourth and sixth.

Casey Kaminski was fifth in the high jump and O’Brien was sixth in the 400.

Dallas did not score any points in Class 3A.

Mitchell Rome had the best finish for the Mountaineers, placing 11th of 37 entries in the 3200 run in 10:01.34.

RED AND BLACK INVITATIONAL

Tunkhannock’s Trejon Turner cleared 6-6 to finish eight inches above every other high jumper out of 29 entries in the Red and Black Invitational, a 30-team meet at East Stroudsburg University Thursday night.

Turner finished fourth in the state in Class 3A at last year’s Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg University when he cleared 6-7 as a sophomore.

Tunkhannock scored 22 points to finish 10th in the boys team standings. The Lady Tigers scored five points and tied for 19th in the girls standings.

Matt Prebola from Tunkhannock placed third in the javelin. Erik Bennett was fourth in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump.

Rebecca Avery finished fifth in the discus and sixth in the shot put.

Hailee Jennings was fifth in the 300-meter hurdles.

WVC STANDINGS

The Dallas girls are alone in the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 lead with a 4-0 record.

Dallas is tied for first with Crestwood and Hazleton Area in WVC Division 1 boys where all three teams are 4-0.

The Mountaineers knocked Wyoming Valley West out of contention Wednesday, handing the Spartans their second loss, 83 ½-65 ½.

They will go head-to-head over the next three weeks.

Crestwood is at Dallas April 24. Hazleton Area is at Crestwood May 1. Dallas then travels to Hazleton Area for the May 7 season finale.

Lake-Lehman and Tunkhannock are tied with Meyers for second place in WVC Division 2 boys. They all have 3-1 records, one meet behind Wyoming Area at 4-0.

DISTRICT 2

Lake-Lehman will be among the 20 boys and 19 girls teams competing in the District 2 Class 2A Championships May 13 at Scranton Memorial Stadium.

Dallas and Tunkhannock are among the 19 Class 3A schools competing for their championships May 14.

The meets start at 3 p.m. each day.
