Local cast in Muhlenberg production

ALLENTOWN — Noah Sunday-Lefkowitz, of Shavertown, is one of 16 Muhlenberg students to perform in the college’s Summer Music Theatre production of “Beauty and the Beast” June 14 to July 1.

Locals graduate from Widener University

CHESTER — Gabrielle Buchter, Tunkhannock, and Seth Brakefield, Trucksville, earned degrees from Widener University

Brakefield earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy in Physical Therapy from Widener’s School of Human Service Professions.

Shaver graduates from The University of Scranton

SCRANTON — Peter P. Shaver, of Shavertown, was among the 34 members of The University of Scranton’s cCass of 2018 who graduated from its undergraduate Honors Program.

Shaver worked with faculty mentor John Meredith Hill, a professor of English and theatre at The Universtiy of Scranton, on a thesis titled “Shavertown and Two Essays.”

Shaver, who graduated magna cum laude, majored in journalism and electronic media and English.

Ford named to honor roll

ANNVILLE, PA — Rebecca Ford, of Shavertown, is one of nearly 200 Lebanon Valley College student-athletes named to the Middle Atlantic Conference’s (MAC) Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll.

Ford, a gradute of Lake-Lehman Junior-Senior High School, is a member of the women’s indoor/outdoor track and field team, and is pursuing a bachelor of science in communication science and disorders at The Valley.

GROVE CITY — Bryce and Travis Mattson, both of Wyoming, were among the 578 students who received degrees during the Commencement exercises at Grove City College May 19.
