Lake-Lehman’s path in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class 2A girls soccer playoffs will take the Lady Knights to the Bloomsburg area Saturday when they meet District 11 champion Northwestern Lehigh at 2 p.m. in a state quarterfinal at Central Columbia High School.

Both teams posted one-goal wins in first-round games Tuesday.

Lake-Lehman, the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 and District 2 Class 2A champion, takes an 18-game winning streak and 20-0-1 record into the game.

Northwestern Lehigh is 22-2 after going to Danville and beating Central Columbia, 1-0, in the first round.

Lake-Lehman has outscored opponents, 173-11. It has 13 shutouts, including two in four postseason games.

Northwestern Lehigh has won by a margin of 87-14, holding each of the last 14 opponents to one or zero goals.

Madison Brdaric scored the winning goal 8:33 into the second half Tuesday night at Dallas High School to advance Lake-Lehman through the first round of the PIAA Tournament.

Abby Paczewski took a pass from Emily Smith and passed to Brdaric inside the penalty area for the game-winner.

Lake-Lehman’s first goal came with 8:34 left in the half when Emily Smith executed a give-and-go with Brdaric then sent a pass to Chloe Weaver, who lined a 23-yard shot into the upper right corner.

The Bubblers tied the game right before halftime.

Lake-Lehman led 16-10 in shots. Both teams had two corner kicks.

Emma Stroud made six saves for the Lady Knights.

Holy Redeemer 0

Emily Smith and Madison Brdaric each had two goals and an assist Nov. 1 when Lake-Lehman won its third title and made its fourth appearance in the final in the past four years with the shutout in the District 2 championship game.

“This group of seniors is beyond amazing,” Lake-Lehman coach Kelly Adamshick said. “This team just works non-stop. They don’t quit.”

Sarah Salus and Chloe Weaver also scored while Abby Paczewski and Lauren Chapple had assists.

Lake-Lehman broke the game open while Holy Redeemer was playing short after having a coach and two players red carded during the second half.

Madison Brdaric scored four goals and Emily Smith added two in the Oct. 29 semifinal rout.

Kalee Raczkowski and Abby Pazczewski also scored.

Emma Stroud made two saves in the shutout.

Lake-Lehman had 14 corner kicks without allowing any.

Hanover Area 1

Lake-Lehman opened the postseason Oct. 26 by scoring 13 first-half goals.

Emily Smith scored four of the goals and Madison Brdaric added three.

Ava Hudak scored less than 10 minutes into the second half for her second goal and a 14-0 lead.

Lake-Lehman won the WVC Division 2 title.

Final standings: Lake-Lehman 12-0, Holy Redeemer 10-2, Wyoming Area 8-4, Nanticoke 6-6, Tunkhannock 2-9-1, Wyoming Seminary 2-9-1, Hanover Area 1-11.

Emma Stroud, Emily Smith, Abby Paczewski, Madison Brdaric and Chloe Weaver were all named to the first team in the division when the WVC coaches selected their all-star teams.

Sarah Salus, Lauren Chapple, Marissa Brdaric and Chase Purdy made the second team.
