Lydia Gonzalez from Dallas won five gold medals in the girls 11-12-year-old swimming division of the Keystone State Games, which came to a conclusion last week.
Gonzalez won the 50-yard freestyle, 100 individual medley and 100 backstroke July 27, then added the 200 freestyle and 50 breaststroke the next day.
Jake Baur won golds in the boys 13-14 division in the 100 backstroke and 200 freestyle.
TRACK AND FIELD
Kaitlyn Conrad, who is entering her freshman year at Dallas, finished third in the girls 15-16-year-old long jump.
Kira Pomrinke, entering eighth grade at Dallas, was second in the 13-14-year-old 3000 run.
FIELD HOCKEY
Lake-Lehman’s Jean Lipski coached the Pocono-1 team that earned the Scholastic Division silver medal, losing the championship game, 1-0, in overtime to Lehigh Valley-1.
BOWLING
Shavertown brothers Blaise and Damain Napierkowski each added a second medal.
Blaise, who had finished third behind Damian’s first-place finish in the 12-15 Male Handicap division, teamed with Jeremy Hospodar to win Division C doubles with a score of 1271. Damian and Logan Visneski finished second in the same division with 1209.
WRESTLING
Ben Yanchick from Dallas finished second in his weight class in the high school division.
