Lake-Lehman had the Division 2 lead and Dallas shared the Division 1 lead in Wyoming Valley Conference boys soccer, highlighting multiple Back Mountain fall sports teams battling for first place in their divisions as of midweek.

The Black Knights needed a second-half rally Tuesday to remain unbeaten and hand Meyers its first defeat, 3-2.

Kyle Sincavage had two goals and assisted on the other. He tied the game at 1-1 in the first half, assisted Andrew Battin’s goal to force a 2-2 tie less than two minutes into the second half and scored the game-winner five minutes later.

Lake-Lehman held on as Meyers took 14 shots, three of which hit the post or crossbar, and seven corner kicks in the second half.

Ricky Wooditch scored two second-half goals Wednesday to lead Dallas to the win that kept the Mountaineers tied for first in WVC Division 1 with Coughlin at 3-0.

Dallas pelted Pittston Area with 50 shots Monday.

David Chopyak had a hat trick for the Mountaineers. He had two goals and assisted the first of Zach Holthaus’ goals for a 3-0 halftime lead. Holthaus scored again for a 4-0 lead in the second half.

Kyle Sincavage, Max Paczewski and Abe Dabsheh each had two goals and an assist Sept. 7 as Lake-Lehman knocked off the defending WVC Division 2 champions in a game between teams that had each started 2-0.

Sincavage scored the game’s first two goals.

Kyle Naugle had a goal and an assist.

The win allowed the Mountaineers to split with the Comets in their home-and-home matches for the second straight year. Last year, they finished tied for first and Dallas wound up beating Crestwood out in a playoff to reach the District 2 Class 3A team championship match.

Lake-Lehman swept three opponents Wednesday, beating Coughlin (20-38), Pittston Area (20-42) and GAR (19-42).

Defending District 2 Class 3A champion Scranton Prep remained unscored upon through three games with a dominant effort Sept. 8 on the road against a Lake-Lehman team that is considered one of the biggest threats to the Cavaliers’ crown.

The Cavaliers outgained the Black Knights, 398-134.

Trey Borger carried 12 times for 68 yards for Lake-Lehman.

Honesdale scored four touchdowns of at least 53 yards Sept. 8, including a 99-yard run by Andy Carroll that put the Hornets ahead to stay by breaking a 14-14 tie with 8:14 left in the half.

Logan Cywinski carried 25 times for 129 yards and two touchdowns for Tunkhannock (0-3).
