Local rivals split when the Back Mountain and Tunkhannock Senior American Legion baseball teams met June 25 for a Wyoming Valley League doubleheader.
Back Mountain took the opener, 5-2, before Tunkhannock won the second game, 6-5.
Zane Nardone drove in three runs with a two-run double and a sacrifice fly for Back Mountain in the first game.
Matt Mathers doubled twice, scored two runs and drove in one. C.J. Cercone went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Brian Muckin led Tunkhannock in the nightcap, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. Brett Soltysiak also went 2-for-3 and scored twice.
As of midweek, Back Mountain was in the middle of the pack while Tunkhannock was eighth in the nine-team league.
