DALLAS — Marina Orrson was the women’s winner and third overall finisher July 30 at the Elite Spine and Sport Physical Therapy Mile on the Misericordia University track.

Orrson, 24, of Shavertown, is now 7-for-7 in the Valley’s Fastest series after winning all three races in each of the first two years of the series. She will try to continue the streak Aug. 13 in the Breaker Brewing Company Giants Despair Mile.

Shavertown runners finished in two of the top three spots.

Jeff Skwierz won in 4:23.14. Kyle Suponcic, a 25-year-old, of Shavertown, was second in 4:51.14.

Orrson was third in 4:57.68, winning the women’s race by 23 seconds. She was a four-time state qualifying and a state medalist in cross country at Lake-Lehman before finishing in the top 20 nationally in track and field at Misericordia University.
