Snowdon named Sem’s director of communications
KINGSTON – Jill Snowdon of Dallas was named director of communications at Wyoming Seminary.
Snowdon, a Wilkes-Barre native, oversees the school’s marketing, public relations and publications programs.
Prior to joining the Sem community, Snowdon served as director of advancement for the United Way of Wyoming Valley in Wilkes-Barre. She also served as the communications coordinator in the Commonwealth Health Marketing Department in Wilkes-Barre, with responsibility for the system’s three local hospitals.
She began her career as a sports writer for the Citizens Voice, covering local high school sports for 16 years.
Snowdon is an active member of the American Red Cross of Luzerne County, the Wyoming Valley Athletic Association, the North Branch Land Trust, the Strive Triathlon, the Pastoral Council Committee at St. Therese’s Church in Shavertown, the Wyoming Valley Striders and the Westmoreland Club.
She is a graduate of King’s College with a bachelor of arts degree in mass communications.
Ashton to attend Central Christian College of the Bible
MOBERLY, MO — Lake-Lehman Junior-Senior High School senior Aleah Ashton is accepted to Central Christian College of the Bible for the fall 2018 semester.
Central Christian College of the Bible exists to develop servant leaders for the church. Centrally located in Moberly, Mo., we train students from all over the world to live out the gospel.
Michael inducted into honor society
WILKES-BARRE — Margaret Michael, of Dallas and a student at King’s College, was recently inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the college’s mass communication honor society.
The daughter of Kathy and Chris Michael, she is a senior double major in communications and criminal justice.
Gromel named to honor society
LORETTO — Carly Gromel, of Harveys Lake, has been inducted into the 2018 Saint Francis University Honor Society. Gromel was among 156 graduating seniors to earn this status.
