DALLAS TWP. — Wycallis Elementary School students and their families participated in Wycallis STEM Night on April 27.
Students were challenged by teachers Nicole Valkenburg and Kristyn Ecenrode to design an efficient and effective slide that could be used in a local park. The problem used STEM curriculum. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Students could only use three common household items such as popsicle sticks, paper towel rolls, Solo cups, a vacuum hose and even a bar stool to create a fun and fast slide.
This was the first STEM Night for the school year. Additional STEM nights will be held at the end of upcoming months for students and their families.
