Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming) invites veterans residing in the 117th Legislative District to her annual Veterans Recognition Expo to be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Misericordia University, Insalaco Hall in Dallas.

The event begins with a free veterans breakfast at 9 a.m. and includes more than 35 veteran-related vendors who will provide information and counseling services. The Mobile Veterans Unit will be parked outside Insalaco Hall.

The Veterans Recognition ceremony will be held in the Lemmond Theater and will feature guest speakers and World War II veterans Francis Turner and Willis Ide. Veterans are welcome to attend a single event or all three of the events.

Other organizations involved in this year’s veterans event will include Jr. Leadership Wilkes-Barre, Dallas Area and Lake Lehman school districts, Junior Girl Scouts of Lake Winola and Boy Scout Troop 281 of Dallas.

The expo is held in conjunction with Misericordia University and Metz Culinary Management and is open to all veterans who reside in the 117th Legislative District, which includes Wyoming County; Benton Township, Dalton, La Plume Township and West Abington Township in Lackawanna County; and Dallas, Dallas Township, Fairmount Township, Franklin Township, Harvey’s Lake, Hunlock Township, Lake Township, Lehman Township and Ross Township in Luzerne County.
