DALLAS — A special display of paintings focused on the Back Mountain area will be exhibited at the Back Mountain Memorial Library during the month of December. Eight watercolors will be presented from area artist Sue Hand, who grew up in the Back Mountain and has lived and worked here most of her life. All the paintings are being offered as a fundraiser for the library.

While their retail values range from $350-$650, each painting is from the artist’s personal collection and may be “adopted” by a new owner for a minimum donation of $200 (or more) to the Back Mountain Memorial Library.

Included in the display are views of the fields above The Lands at Hillside Farms, roses at Misericordia University, fresh snow at Lake Louise, the 1888 cornerstone of the Dallas United Methodist Church and the antique oxen yoke as it hung on the side of the old Risley Barn, the original barn for the library’s annual auction.

Stop by the library during the month of December for an excellent opportunity to view some familiar scenes, do some holiday shopping, and support your local library all at the same time.
