DALLAS — Brian Orbin, of Harveys Lake, will display his collection of Harveys Lake memorabilia at The Back Mountain Memorial Library, 96 Huntsville Road, during the month of September.

Currently a senior at LCCC, Brian is often recognized as the infamous “clown kid” riding around the lake with his colorful clown wig and his radio playing.

Brian has been collecting the memorabilia for eight years and says his passion began by riding his bike around Harveys Lake for over 13 years as well, as being involved in the community. Some of his personal favorites from his collection are the newspaper clippings binder, the glass Harveys Lake Bottling Works soda bottles, and the Hanson’s t-shirts.

Brian says he buys most of his memorabilia, but some have been donated to his online business page which can be found on Facebook as The Harveys Lake Record. He started the page in 2012 and has received over 5,600 likes and the community keeps growing.

Brian states his Facebook page is the closest thing there is to a Harveys Lake Historical Society. He uses the page to keep the community informed about upcoming events at the lake, as well as a platform to post all sorts of historical and recent pictures and videos. Brian also sells t-shirts and other Harveys Lake memorabilia, as well as copies of his CD of original music which takes place at the lake.

Brian states, “I am very proud of where I am at today and how so many people see me at the lake and not only recognize me, but love seeing me in the community.”
