DALLAS TWP. — Students from the Back Mountain Dance Studio recently competed at the Performing Arts Alliance “Contest of Champions” competition in King of Prussia. Several students were named “Grand Champion” title winners for having the highest single scores in the entire competition.
The dance group “High Energy” was named Grand Champion group/line in both the 6-7 and the 8-9 age division and were awarded a check for $2,000. The studio’s senior dance line “Young Entertainers” was the Grand Champion winner in the 16-18 age division and were awarded a $1,000 prize. In addition, Lexi Berecin was the Grand Champion solo winner in ages 6-7 and also won $250. Berecin and her partner Carly Kappler were the Grand Champion duo/trio winners in ages 8-9 division and each won $100 as well as special trophies and sashes.
All of the dancers are students under the direction of Robert and Kristine Oberst, owners and directors of the studio.
