DALLAS — The Back Mountain Memorial Library, located at 96 Huntsville Road, will host the upcoming events.

• A Evening at Leggio’s Italian Ristorante to support the library, 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 7. A percentage of the total sales between 5 and 8 p.m. (eat-in, take-out, and gift cards purchased) will be donated to the library. Bar sales are not included. Leggio’s is located at 64 E. Center Hill Road, Dallas.

• “Hiking Through the Natural Beauty of Pennsylvania” author presentation by Jeff Mitchell, 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at the library. A dedicated hiker, Mitchell will discuss the scenic beauty of the trails and waterways found in the state. Call 570-675-1182 to register.

• Amnesty Week, Nov. 13-18. Fines will be waived on any overdue items returned this week. Please note this does not cover previous fines or fees on lost or damaged items.

• “Home At Last” author presentation with Barbara DeWitt Smith at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the library. Smith will speak about the unique challenges adult children of alcoholics face, and gives hope through the use of therapy. Call 570-675-1182 to register.

• Christmas Extravaganza, 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, and 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at the library. The annual holiday sale kicks off with a two-day grand opening. Merchandise includeing gift items, decorations, wreaths, vintage collectibles, Nativity sets and all things Christmas will be available. All sales benefit the library.

• ‘Fall Into STEM’ Adventure 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 18 at the library. A morning of fun STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) challenges will be held in the Children’s Room. Can you build a bridge that will hold a dinosaur? Program a robot to execute a mission? Call 570-675-1182 to register.

Have you been thinking about joining our First Choice Reader Book Club or the Silver Screen DVD Club? Now is a great time to sign up. You get the rest of this year and all of next year for your dues. Book Club membership is $20 for a single and $25 for a double. Silver Screen memberships are singles only, and cost is $15.

Volunteers are invited to help sort, clean, and paint donated items. The donations stock our library gift shop throughout the year and the booths at our annual auction.
