PARADISE TWP. — Officials with the State’s Gaming Control Board, after meeting with officials at Mount Airy Casino this afternoon have granted approval for the facility to move forward with plans to officially open up its table games to the public Tuesday morning.
Doug Harbach, a spokesman with the gaming control board, said the meeting was to review how Sunday’s test date went and the performance of casino employees during the test. He said the board decided that the casino was ready to open tables to the public.
There will be a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday with remarks by casino officials and dignitaries. Then the tables — blackjack, roulette, poker, craps and others — will open.
Gaming Control Board members also met with officials at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Plains Township and Hollywood Casino in Grantville Monday to review their test sessions and gave both facilities the green light to begin offering table games to the public Tuesday, too.
