The Junior League of Wilkes-Barre, a volunteer organization of women working to improve our communities, seeks new members.

The Junior League of Wilkes-Barre provides a foundation for civic leadership and also connects women who share a commitment to voluntarism and community transformation. It is a diverse group of approximately 175 local members.

Women interested in joining the Junior League can attend one of two informal information open houses to learn more.

Stop by for a few minutes to learn more about the League anytime from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25 at an Ice Cream Social at The Lands at Hillside Farms, Hillside Road, Shavertown.

Or, attend the second informational open house anytime between 10 a.m. and noon on Friday, Sept. 24 at the Hoyt Library, Wyoming Avenue, Kingston.

Children are welcome at both sessions.
