Senior Citizens Centers sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne and Wyoming Counties offer hot noon meals Monday through Friday to people 60 years of age or older. Donations from participants are gratefully accepted and needed in order to expand this program.
The following is the menu for the week of Sept. 2, 2013:
MONDAY: Centers closed for Labor Day holiday.
TUESDAY: Turkey salad sandwich, rye bread, bean soup, cucumber and tomato salad, Oreo pudding, margarine, milk and coffee.
WEDNESDAY: Bag lunch
THURSDAY: Grandparents Day special dinner – Stuffed chicken breast with gravy, peas and pearl onions, rice pilaf, herb dinner roll, orange iced cake, margarine, milk and coffee.
FRIDAY: Stuffed pepper, mashed potatoes, zucchini and summer squash, whole wheat dinner, tapioca pudding, margarine, milk and coffee.
