KINGSTON TWP. — Police have charged a teenager in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 45-year-old man over the weekend.

Zachary Hockenberry, 14, is charged with homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and burglary in connection with the death of David Sinoracki and assaults on Sinoracki’s wife and daughter.

Kingston Township police were dispatched to the area of 7 Orchard St. just before 2 p.m. Sunday and found multiple residents who had suffered stab wounds.

According to a police affidavit, officers arrived to find a woman, later identified as Bobbi Jo Sinoracki, sitting on the floor of the home, saying she had been stabbed in the back. Police found David Sinoracki, who was being cared for by two women, bleeding heavily from his chest.

Hockenberry had been restrained in a chair in the living room, the affidavit says.

Bobbi Jo Sinoracki told police she was vacuuming in the living room when she felt “what she described as being punched in the back.” She turned around and saw Hockenberry, who allegedly was holding a knife, and realized she was stabbed.

Hockenberry then allegedly went after her husband, David Sinoracki, who sustained multiple penetrating wounds to his chest. Sinoracki later died of his injuries.

A girl at the residence reportedly told police she heard her mother screaming for help. Police said that when the girl tried to intervene, she sustained a single stab wound in the left side of her chest.

All three victims were transported by ambulance to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital for treatment. Bobbi Jo Sinoracki was admitted to the hospital for treatment of multiple stab wounds to her back. Her daughter was treated for the injury she suffered to her chest and was released.

Hockenberry was arraigned on his charges before Magisterial District Judge James Tupper on Sunday. He will appear before Tupper for a preliminary hearing at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 22. Hockenberry has been jailed in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility without bail.
