DALLAS — Brian Orbin, 19, of Harveys Lake will showcase his Harveys Lake memorabilia collection at the Back Mountain Memorial Library in November.

Currently a sophomore at Luzerne County Community College, Orbin is often recognized as the infamous “clown kid” riding around the lake with his colorful clown wig and his radio playing.

Orbin has been collecting the memorabilia for six years and says his passion began by riding his bike around Harveys Lake for over 11 years and by simply just being involved in the community.

Some of his personal favorites from his collection are the newspaper clippings binder, the glass Harveys Lake Bottling Works soda bottles and Hanson’s t-shirts.

Orbin says he buys most of his memorabilia, but some have been donated to his online business page which can be found on Facebook at The Harveys Lake Record. He started the page in 2012 and has received over 4,600 likes.

Orbin states that his Facebook page is the closest thing to a Harveys Lake Historical Society. He uses the page to keep the community informed about upcoming events at the lake as well as a platform to post historical and recent pictures and videos. He also sells t-shirts and other Harveys Lake memorabilia such as coffee mugs and magnets.

“I am very proud of where I am at today and how so many people see me at the lake and not only recognize me, but love seeing me in the community,” Orbin said.

Members of the community are invited to see Orbin’s Harveys Lake memorabilia collection throughout the entire month of November at the Back Mountain Memorial Library, 96 Huntsville Road.
