Kaitlyn Metz, Rebecca Ford recognized by Lebanon Valley College

ANNVILLE — Kaitlyn Metz, of Dallas, and Rebecca Ford, of Shavertown, were among more than 200 student-athletes at Lebanon Valley College who competed for the Flying Dutchmen spring athletic teams. Local students include:

Metz, a graduate of Wyoming Seminary, is pursuing a bachelor of arts in undeclared/open major, and was a member of the women’s lacrosse team. LVC put together a historic 2019 campaign after capturing the MAC Commonwealth title and earned its first-ever trip to the NCAA Championship Tournament. The Dutchmen won their opening-round game 13-11 against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy before falling to eventually National Runner-Up Salisbury. Jen Eck was named the MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Year and Leah Franklin was tabbed the MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament MVP.

Ford, a graduate of Lake-Lehman High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in communication sciences and disorders, and was a member of the women’s outdoor track and field team. The Dutchmen were impressive at the 2019 MAC Championships, beginning with Alyssa Diffenderfer, who took home the gold in the 100-meter dash and the silver in the 200-meter dash. Olivia Faloon (pole vault) and Jessica Olewine (triple jump) won silver in their respective events, while Jess Attieh earned the bronze in the high jump at MAC’s and also garnered USTFCCCA All-Region honors.
