JACKSON TWP. — A 53-year-old from the Shavertown area is accused of inappropriately touching a 5-year-old girl and exposing himself to her on repeated occasions.
Ronald Faye Miller Jr., 304 Weavertown Road, was arraigned Monday after the child told police Miller rubbed her private areas with a feather during “surprise parties” where their clothes were off, court records show.
According to a criminal complaint:
One night in February, the victim told her father her “pee pee” was tingling. That’s how the girl referred to her vagina.
The father got his live-in girlfriend to talk to his daughter, and the girl told her about the “surprise parties” with Miller and the touching involved.
The parties would happen only when Miller’s wife was working, the girl said.
She added the parties were a secret between she and Miller.
The victim was questioned in March by a Children and Youth caseworker and a forensic interviewer.
During a genital exam by a nurse, the victim began to cry and told the nurse she did not want her to “tickle her there.”
The girl’s parents explained to the nurse the victim was self-stimulating at home, which involved rubbing against objects. The victim called it “tickling.”
During another interview later in March, the girl told a caseworker that neither the victim nor Miller wore clothing during the parties.
The victim said the parties would start in the playroom with Ronald singing “The Banana Song.” Miller would also hug her while they had their clothes off, she said.
The girl is currently in therapy.
The therapist said the victim told her that Miller would kiss her on the lips. When asked to model the kiss, the girl demonstrated “a long, sexual kiss; not an affectionate kiss common among family members,” according to the complaint.
Miller was sent to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $100,000 bail.
He is facing two felony counts of indecent assault, a felony count of corruption of minors, indecent exposure and related charges.
A preliminary hearing has been set for May 11.
