Zachary and his mother, Traci, of Shavertown, were involved in a devastating automobile accident on Lower Demunds Road during Memorial Day weekend 2008. Zack, then 3, was life-flighted to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville where he survived brain surgery and spent several weeks in a coma.
Since his return home, Zack has received therapy and rehabilitation and continues to do so daily at Pediatria, a new healthcare facility for medically complex children through the age of 8, located in Wilkes-Barre.
Proceeds from the dodge ball tournament will benefit the Zachary Bryden Foundation and Pediatria.
Event organizer Stef Sikora has coordinated the tournament for three years to help her best friend, Traci Shoemaker. The first tournament involved eight teams. Since the first tournament, more than $2,000 has been raised.
