Hazleton Area ended a 122-meet Wyoming Valley Conference boys cross country winning streak by seven-time defending champion Dallas Wednesday afternoon, opening the door for Lake-Lehman to finish the day in a share of first place.
Dallas went 2-1 in a cluster meet at Kirby Park, falling to Hazleton Area, 26-29.
Lake-Lehman went 3-0 in a meet at Pittston Area to end the day tied for first place with Holy Redeemer at 5-0 on the season.
Mitchell Rome from Dallas finished first in the six-team cluster meet, helping the Mountaineers (4-1) defeat Crestwood, 18-40, and MMI Prep, 15-45.
Chandler Longstreth finished fourth of Lake-Lehman, which also had Will McCarroll, Casey Weaver and Neil Dougherty finish seventh, eighth and ninth.
The Black Knights defeated Pittston Area, 21-35, along with 15-50 victories over Coughlin and GAR.
Tunkhannock was part of the same six-team meet and finished 2-1, led by Peter Sayre’s second-place finish.
The Tigers beat GAR, 17-43, and Coughlin, 15-50, while losing to Pittston Area, 23-34.

Abby Paczewski finished first and unbeaten Lake-Lehman had half of the top 10 finishers in the six-team meet.
The Black Knights defeated Pittston Area, 20-36, while beating both Coughlin and GAR, 15-50.
Madison Brdaric was third, Lizzy Blaski seventh, Morgan Patla eighth and Lauryn Pembleton 10th for Lake-Lehman.
Madelyn Franko was sixth for Tunkhannock, which beat Coughlin and GAR, 15-50, but lost to Pittston Area, 26-29.
Kaitlyn Hodakowski and Megan Borton finished second and third for Dallas behind Crestwood freshman Molly DeMarzo, leading the Mountaineers to a sweep of three races, 24-32 over Hazleton Area, 20-41 over Crestwood and 15-50 over MMI Prep.
The Mountaineers are 5-0 to share first place with Lake-Lehman, just ahead of Holy Redeemer at 4-0.
Logan Paczewski shot even-par, 36 at Blue Ridge Trail Golf Club to help unbeaten WVC Class AAA Division 1 leader Dallas knocked Crestwood out of a share of the WVC Class AAA Division 2 lead.
Ethan Zawatski added a 38, Cooper Kelley a 40 and Brett Ostroski a 41.
Colby Gilpin’s 40 and Dylan Mislevy’s 41 led Tunkhannock to the win on the front nine at Shadowbrook.
Lake-Lehman fell to Holy Redeemer, 164-175, and Wyoming Seminary, 167-175.
Bobby Lugiano shot a 37 at Huntsville Golf Club to share medalist honors.
Gianna Musto had seven kills for Dallas in the 25-15, 25-14, 25-8 sweep.
Sam Michael had 12 service points, including four on aces. Emma Berger had 17 assists, eight points and five aces. Gabby Sweeney also had eight points.

Molly Straley had seven kills and 11 digs for Tunkhannock in the 25-20, 26-24, 25-23 win.
Zach Holthaus scored five times to lead the Dallas win.
Beaudyn Lewis added a goal and two assists.
