Marina Martino ran to the women’s course record while winning the sixth annual Wyoming Valley Striders 20K Run Nov. 10 at Lehigh Gorge State Park in White Haven.

Martino, a 28-year-old from Dallas, placed fifth overall in the record field of 201 runners in a time of 1:18:44.

“I tried to run my goal marathon pace, which is between 6:15 and 6:18 per mile,” Martino told the Times Leader. “And, I finished at a 6:17 pace. So, as long as I’m within that range, I’m happy.”

Martino said she plans to run in the 9-mile Run for the Diamonds in Berwick on Thanksgiving. She is a past champion of the race.

Mike Adamshick, 41, from Dallas placed sixth in 1:19:18 and won the 40-44-year-old male age group. Sean Robbins, 50, from Dallas was ninth in 1:21:17 and won the 50-54-year-old male age group.

Alexander Byrnes, 24, from Tunkhannock was 11th in 1:22:47.

Robert Moulton and Marina Martino ran to victories and set course records in the sixth annual Wyoming Valley Striders 20K Run at Lehigh Gorge State Park.
