SHAVERTOWN — St. Therese’s Prayer Shawl Ministry recently celebrated its second anniversary and is pleased to announce it reached the milestone of creating over 500 prayer shawls.

The ministry currently has 28 members and, in the last two years, has donated handmade items to the following organizations: Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Oncology, Domestic Violence Resource Center, Celtic Hospice, Candy’s Place, tVA Hospital, Geisinger Wyoming Valley NICU, Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, and Catherine Mc Auley House.

The ministry also serves its own parish by providing prayer shawls to grieving parishioners and gifting each newly-baptized baby with a blanket and bootie set.
