SCRANTON — Kyle Shupp from Tunkhannock placed 203rd out of 1,419 finishers in the Oct. 8 Steamtown Marathon.
Shupp, 21, was sixth out of 35 finishers in the Male 24-and-under Division.
Hillary Too, a 39-year-old Kenyan man from Morristown, N.J., made it through the humid conditions to complete the 22nd annual race from Forest City to downtown Scranton in 2:23:40.
Heather Dewees, the first Back Mountain woman to finish, was among five Dallas runners who joined Shupp in posting impressive times.
Dewees, Steve Weber and Brian Hilburt finished in less than four hours, an achievement made by less than one-third of the field. Dewees, Foster and Myron Sidloski all placed in the top 10 of their age group.
Dewees was 273rd in 3:44:40, good for ninth out of 93 in the Female 40-44 Division and 51st of 594 among all women.
Weber, 34, was 231st in 3:39:53 while Hilburt, 39, was 315th in 3:48:32.
Foster was second among the seven female 60-64 finishers with a time of 4:45:46.
Sidloski was ninth out of 25 male 65-69 finishers in 4:22:47.
