Gavin Isopi pitched six innings and scattered five hits as Hanover defeated Oil City 4-1 Thursday in an elimination game in the Little League Senior Baseball state tournament at DuBois Little League.

Dyllon Cole picked up the save for Hanover, which plays at 4 p.m. Friday against Hollidaysburg.

Todd Kolbicka led the hitting, going 3-for-3 with an RBI. Ashton Shiel had two hits. Nate Jaslar tripled and knocked in a run. Justin Richards and Aiden Giesinger each had a hit and an RBI.

Cole and John Bush added a hit apiece.

MAJOR SOFTBALL

Back Mountain game suspended

Back Mountain led 1-0 in the top of the second inning against Indiana when its state elimination game at Plymouth Meeting Little League was suspended due to heavy rain.

The game will resume at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The other elimination game was postponed and will be played at 1:30 p.m.

AMERICAN LEGION

Hazleton 7, Nanticoke 3

Hazleton Stripes & Strikes secured the third seed in the American Legion Baseball playoffs with a victory over Nanticoke.

Collin Eisenhower pitched four innings to pick up the win. Quest Wilson threw the final three, allowing one hit, to get the save.

Aaron Mason, Shane Buchman, Alex Amentler, Jatnk Diaz and Johnathan Pozniak had an RBI each for Hazleton.

Connor Quaglia and Devyn Sura each had two hits for Nanticoke.
