Emily Smith set up the go-ahead goal then scored an insurance goal Saturday when Lake-Lehman defeated Dallas, 3-1, in a non-league battle between defending girls soccer championship teams.
As different-sized schools competing in different divisions, both Back Mountain schools have been able to pursue championships at the same time. They each won Wyoming Valley Conference divisions and District 2 classes last season.
The smaller school came out on top on the road when the teams met Saturday.
Lake-Lehman finished with advantages of 12-5 in shots and 2-0 in corner kicks.
The teams were scoreless until 10:06 remained in the first half when Chase Purdy put Lake-Lehman ahead on an assist from Keera Naugle.
Megan MacNeely tied it for Dallas less than two minutes later.
Abby Paczewski scored the game-winner with 6:40 left in the half on an assist from Smith.
Smith then scored with 14:55 remaining in the game. Madison Brdaric had the assist.
Emma Stroud made four saves in the win.
Sarah Krokos had nine saves for Dallas.
