District 12 American Legion honored the winners of the annual Essay Contest and Oratorical Contest at their monthly meeting. Commander Nicole Guest presented the winners with a citation, a medal, and a check for their participation.
Commander Guest stated, “The American Legion is especially proud in their hundred years of existence to support many activities for our youth who will be the future leaders of our country. Thanks to all who took the time to participate and all the District 12 members who supported this endeavor.”
Mary Grace Ciaccia won the local, district, inter district Oratorical Contests; Sarah Maseychik was first-place winner of the Essay Contest, Elizabeth Katulka was second-place winner of the Essay Contest, and Ava Groth was third -place winner of the Essay Contest.
Tom Kobusky, Adjutant, acquired the medals and citations from the Legion state office and Joe Kelley, finance officer, provided the checks. Clarence J. Michael was the chairperson of both contests.
