DALLAS TWP. — The Department of Social Work at Misericordia University recently hosted state Sen. Lisa Baker, R-20, Lehman Twp., to discuss legislative issues and the annual Legislative Education and Advocacy Day in Harrisburg.

This year, the program is focusing its attention on House Bill 390, which stresses the importance of certification for school social workers.

Students in Misericordia University’s Social Welfare and Policy class, as well as other social work majors from the institution will attend the advocacy day on March 25.
