DALLAS TWP. – Misericordia University has announced the appointment of Ted R. Kocher, of Dallas, as the director of major gifts in its University Advancement Division.
Kocher comes to Misericordia University after serving as the leadership and planned gift officer at Muhlenberg College in Allentown. While there, he was responsible for securing major gifts from alumni, parents and friends of the institution while advancing the overall fundraising agenda of the college. Kocher also managed a pool of prospects from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, as well as the mid-Atlantic and mid-west regions. During his tenure, he successfully secured leadership gifts through scholarships and planned gifts.
He previously worked in banking and financial planning at regional banking and wealth management institutions after holding several leadership positions for the Alpha Sigma Phi Educational Foundation in Delaware, Ohio and Carmel, Indiana, and at public and private institutions of higher education.
Kocher will be responsible for creating and implementing a robust plan for major gift fundraising, including the identification of new major gift donors and constituents, and driving attention to the re-engagement of past major gift leaders in the region and across the United States.
Kocher holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio.
