There’s a lot to do at the Back Mountain Memorial Library

The Back Mountain Memorial Library lists the following upcoming events:

Yoga returns this fall at 6:30 p.m. Mondays starting Sept. 17. Cost is $60 for a six-week session, payable in advance. Sample a class and see if it suits you for $10. This is designed to be a moderately challenging workout to improve flexibility and relieve stress.

You may never have realized the power of music in affecting your health and well-being. Music therapist Cheryl Mozdian will present a “Music for Wellness” workshop at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26. Join her to experience ways to lower blood pressure, boost your immune system, and release tension, all through the use of music. This program is being held at the library; call to sign up.

Don’t forget to get your tickets for our fabulous Designer Bag Bingo. Tickets are on sale now for the Sunday, Oct. 7 event. Pre-sale prices are $20, which includes three cards for each of 20 games and five special games. Tickets at the door will be $25, so stop in soon. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and bingo starts at 1 p.m. The place to be is the Dallas High School. Refreshments will be on sale and you can try your luck on an assortment of raffle baskets and a 50/50. This event has proven every year to be lots of fun, so grab some friends and join us, while benefitting the library. Hope to see you there

The Dallas Lions Club will host its sixth annual golf tournament at Irem Country Club on Thursday, Sept. 27 as a Captain & Crew setup, with four players to a team. Start gathering your golfers because the Lions dedicate the proceeds to the library. Work up an appetite for the dinner that follows at Appletree Terrace at Newberry Estates. The cost is $85 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf, a motorized cart, and prizes. For anyone wishing to attend the dinner only, the cost is $30. Call 570-262-7060 for more information.

Here’s your chance to experience the benefits of Chair Yoga, as certified Yoga instructor Lisa Galico presents an introductory workshop at the library. The one-hour workshop will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28 and costs $10 per person. This class is appropriate for beginners, as focus is on range of motion while using a chair for support. A six-class session will be available for those participants who wish to continue, for $60. Please call the library to register.
