DALLAS — The tradition of auction artists will continue at the 72nd Annual Back Mountain Library Auction July 5-8 on the library grounds, 96 Huntsville Road.

Sue Hand has painted the auction “in situ,” on location for nearly 30 years. She will be assisted by fellow artist Michael Hiscox, an art teacher at Wycallis Elementary School, who has participated for the past several years and who also teaches with Hand at her studio during the summer months.

Joining Hand and Hiscox this year will be students Caroline Stallard, a ninth-grader at Dallas High School and Sarah Gurzynski, a 10th-grade student at Dallas High School. Both Stallard and Gurzynski won awards at the Suzanne Maria Rossetti Memorial Juried art contest this past March.

Visitors to the auction will see the artworks come to life the three days preceding the auction of their paintings. All three paintings produced by the auction art team will go over the auction block on the last evening, July 8, to raise money in support of the Back Mountain Memorial Library.
