Despite rain being in forecasts earlier this week, sunshine is now in the picture for the weekend.

The Wyoming Valley could, however, still see some rain into Sunday.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 52 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fog/mist was reported.

Mostly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 73. Clear skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 49.

Partly sunny skies will round out the week on Friday, along with isolated showers in the morning, and scattered showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rainfall is expected, and Friday’s high will be near 71.

Friday night is expected to bring partly cloudy skies, along with a slight chance of showers. The low will be around 50.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Saturday, with a high near 71. Partly cloudy skies will follow into Saturday night, with a low around 54.

Cloudy skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, and showers are likely. The high will be near 69.

Showers will continue to be likely into Sunday night, with a low around 60.
