Sunny skies and warmer temperatures are expected to persist as the week rolls along.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 36 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fair skies were reported.

Mostly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 58. Cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 38.

Wednesday will once again bring mostly sunny skies, with a high near 62. Partly cloudy skies will carry over into Wednesday night, with a low around 40.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, with a high near 64.

Thursday night will bring mostly cloudy skies, along with a 30 percent chance of showers. The low will be near 45.
