Warmer temperatures and sunshine are expected in the Wyoming Valley into the midweek.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 39 degrees as of 5:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and cloudy skies were reported.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected to kick off then new week today, along with a 30 percent chance of showers after 3 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and today’s high will be near 53.

Cloudy skies will follow into tonight, along with areas of frost into Tuesday morning. Tonight’s low will be around 37.

Tuesday will bring partly cloudy skies, with a high near 54. Those cloudy skies will follow into Tuesday night, with a low around 39.

Sunny skies are expected on Wednesday, with a high near 61.

Partly cloudy skies will follow into Wednesday night, with a low around 40.
