Sunshine will make a brief return into Thursday, but rain is expected to return and stick around through the weekend.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 51 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and overcast skies were reported.

Mostly cloudy skies will gradually become sunny today, and the high will be near 58.

Mostly clear skies will follow into tonight, and the low will drop to around 37.

Clouds will gradually increase throughout the day on Thursday, with a high near 62.

Showers are likely after 2 a.m. on Thursday night, and up to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible. The low will be around 48.

Friday will also bring a high likelihood of showers, but no rainfall amounts have been predicted. Winds could also gust as high as 22 mph. Friday’s high will be near 63.

Showers will continue to be likely into Friday night, and the low will be around 52.
