Skies are expected to briefly clear into Wednesday, but the chance for rain will return by Thursday.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 58 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and overcast skies were reported.

Scattered showers are possible before 11 a.m. today, followed by isolated showers after 2 p.m. Partly sunny skies are expected otherwise, and less than a tenth of an inch of total rainfall is expected. Today’s high will be near 64.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 43.

Wednesday is expected to bring partly sunny skies, with a high near 58. Partly cloudy skies will carry over into Wednesday night, with a low around 40.

Rain is likely after 2 p.m. Thursday, but no rainfall amounts have been predicted. Mostly cloudy skies are expected otherwise, and the high will be near 59.

A 90 percent chance of rain is also predicted for Thursday night, with a low around 48.
