Civil War Round Table to meet
DALLAS — The Wyoming Valley Civil War Round Table will present “Fighting the Civil War: Historical Treasures of the Conflict in the Collection of the National Civil War Museum” by Wayne E. Motts, the National Civil War Museum’s chief executive officer at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9 in the lower level of the Daddow-Isaacs American Legion, 730 Memorial Highway.
The program is open to the public. A $3 donation will be accepted for non-members. New members are always welcome.
Lake-Lehman reunion
HARVEYS LAKE — The Lake-Lehman High School Class of 1978, along with those classmates who went on to West Side Area Vocational Technical School, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 9 at the Grotto to plan their 40th anniversary class reunion. Birdwatching walk
WYOMING — Wild Birds Unlimited’s Bruce Troy will host a birdwatching walk starting at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, at Frances Slocum State Park. The leisurely walk through the park will highlight the regions feathery residents. Attendees should dress appropriately, bring binoculars and bug spray.
Crispell family reunion set
NOXEN — Descendants of Thomas S. Crispell are invited to the 107th annual PA branch family reunion on Aug. 11 at Dymond’s Grove.
Lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m. Participants are asked to bring tableware, beverage, and a food dish to share.
A family photo will be taken at 1:30 p.m., followed by a business meeting and a small gift raffle with proceeds to benefit the reunion treasury. Each family is asked to bring a new or white elephant wrapped gift worth $5 or less
