Dallas Borough Council honors Police Officer Kretchmer for life-saving actions

DALLAS — Borough Police Officer Michael Kretchmer was presented with a Letter of Commendation from Dallas Borough Council pn July 18 for his quick actions that saved the lives of two residents.

Officer Kretchmer responded to an emergency call with Dallas Township Police Officer Taylor Dunn and saved the lives of Terry Hutchinson and Thomas McCormack, near-fatal victims of carbon monoxide poisoning, on Jan. 2, 2017. In addition, Dunn and Kretchmer re-entered the building to save the victims’ dogs from the hazardous situation.

At the council meeting, Officer Kretchmer was also honored with the Life Saving Award and Medal from the American Police Hall of Fame.
