Civil War Round Table to meet

DALLAS — The Wyoming Valley Civil War Round Table will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 12, in the lower level of the Daddow-Isaacs American Legion Post 672, located at 730 Memorial Highway.

Pastor John Lee, an U.S. Air Force Veteran of Vietnam and retired United Methodist pastor, will present “Bible, Bullets and Bucktails” in character as Bucktail Chaplain William McCormick.

The program is open to the public. A $3 donation is accepted for non-members.

Birding at Frances Slocum State Park

WYOMING — Join Bruce Troy, of Wild Birds Unlimited, for a walk through the Frances Slocum State Park to bird watch at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14. Attendees will meet in the parking lot near the Environmental Education Center and boat rental area. Guests are asked to bring binoculars and wear comfortable walking shoes. Summer Take Out BBQ

KINGSTON TWP. — The annual Summer Take Out BBQ will be held Friday, July 20 at Trucksville United Methodist Church Educational Facility, 40 Knob Hill Road, Trucksville.

Takeouts begin at 4:30 p.m.and continue through 7 p.m. The menu includes, half a chicken, baked potato, all the fixings, homemade desserts, and beverages.

Reservations are required. Call 570-696-3897 between the hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday to reserve your seat.

FallFest Mixer

WYOMING COUNTY — Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce will hold a FallFest Mixer from 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 27 at Shadowbrook Restort in Tunkhannock. Tickets start at $25 per person and are available at WyCCC.com.
