DALLAS – The Misericordia University Chapter of Autism Speaks U is sponsoring “Gobble Till You Wobble,’’ an afternoon of fun and Thanksgiving-themed activities for families that have children with autism, from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Anderson Sports and Health Center. The program is free and open to the public.

The program will offer sensory activities, crafts, fun games and a snack bar sale to benefit programming for the Misericordia University Chapter of Autism Speaks U. Some of the activities include “Turkey Says,’’ parachute games, make-and-take Thanksgiving sensory bottles, apple decorating, a motor game of picking pumpkins and carrying them through a resistive tunnel, and more.

“The goal is to offer the community a fun and engaging activity for families with autism,’’ said Lori Charney, assistant professor of occupational therapy and faculty advisor for the student organization. “Children with autism struggle with social activities. We want to provide a sensory environment that will promote positive social opportunities for these children.’’
