The 27th Annual Antique and Classic Boat Show

HARVEYS LAKE – The Northeastern Chapter Antique and Classic Boat Society will hold the 27th Antique and Classic Boat Show from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12.

Boats can access the lake through Grotto Marina, located on Route 415 at the entrance to the late. There is free off-street parking in nearby lots. Admission is open to the public free of charge.

“Since Harveys Lake is easy to get to boaters traveling here from other clubs for the show will fill the docks at Grotto Marina with beautifully amazing wooden boats,” NEPA Harveys Lake Chapter President and Boat Show Chairman Josh Bryant said in a news release.

An exciting day of activities is planned including live band music presented by John and Terry from Strawberry Jam Duo. Winners of People’s Choice Award and Ladies Choice Award are chosen by sightseers.

Meadows to hold classic car show

DALLAS — The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will host the Hi-Lites Motor Club Classic Car Show from 1-4 pm on Saturday, Aug. 12, on the facility’s grounds at 4 E. Center Hill Road. Classic cars will be stationed around the pond on the scenic grounds of the Meadows campus. Members of Boy Scout Troop 281 of Dallas will sell hot food as a fundraiser for the troop. An ice cream truck will also be on hand. Rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 13.

Crispell family reunion planned

NOXEN — Descendants of Thomas S. Crispell are invited to the 106th PA Branch Reunion on Saturday, Aug. 12 at Dymond’s Grove.

Lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m. Participants are asked to furnish table service and beverages for their family and a covered dish to share with everyone.

Each family is asked to bring a new or white elephant wrapped gift valued at $5 or under for a small gift raffle.

Old family photos and memorabilia, along with relatives and friends are welcomed.

LCCC fall course registration

NANTICOKE — Luzerne County Community College will hold registration for fall semester classes at the following dates:

• 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 19;

• 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Aug. 21, to Aug. 23;

• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Aug. 24 and 25; and

• 8:15 a.m. to 6 p.m., Aug. 28 and 29.

All class registrations are held on LCCC campus located at 1333 S. Prospect St.

Huntsville United Methodist Church to hold Community Yard Sale

SHAVERTOWN — Huntsville United Methodist Church will hold a Community Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 1233 Huntsville Road. Vendors may call 570-477-3748 to reserve a spot. Family style beef dinner planned

SWEET VALLEY — The Sweet Valley Volunteer Fire Company will hold a family style beef dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 o.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 with takeouts beginning at 4 p.m. Cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 6-11. Children under 6 years of age eat free.
