Mr. and Mrs. Martin Gilligan, Dallas, are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Molly, to 1st Lieutenant Brian R. Haughwout, Jr., son of Brian and Louise Haughwout, Trucksville.

Molly is the granddaughter of John and Dolores Wehrum, Dunmore, and the late Harry P. and Marian O’Neill. She is a 2009 graduate of Dallas High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental geology with a minor in educational studies from Colgate University, magna cum laude in 2013. She earned a Master of Science degree in environmental policy from the Center for Environmental Policy at Bard College in 2015. She is currently a fellow with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN)’s Global Gender Office.

Brian is the grandson of Leon and Georgia Weiss, Dallas, and the late Richard and Harriet Haughwout. The prospective groom graduated from Dallas High School in 2009 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh, magna cum laude in 2013, along with a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He is currently stationed in Great Falls, Montana, as a missile combat crew commander. He is also pursuing a master’s degree in space studies from the University of North Dakota.

The couple plan to be married at St. Therese’s Church in Shavertown on May 28, 2016, followed by a reception at the Westmoreland Club in Wilkes-Barre.
