DALLAS – St. Paul’s Lutheran Church invites the community to attend the annual St. Paul Summerfest from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28 n the church grounds, 474 Yalick Road, off Route 118.
Popular area musicians Jesse & Friends will perform throughout the afternoon, and the Hi-Lites Motor Club will present its classic vehicle display from noon to 4 p.m. with as many as 60 vehicles to examine.
Jesse & Friends, a five-piece band located in the Wyoming Valley, is known for its engaging worship and praise, country, blue grass, gospel and rock and roll-influenced music. The band frequently performs at area festivals, nursing homes and auctions.
Visitors are encouraged to join the congregation for an outdoor service at 5:30 p.m., with music provided by Jesse & Friends.
In addition, the Summerfest will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All those interested in contributing are invited to visit www.geisingerbloodcenter.org and click on “Make an Appointment” or call 1-866-996-5100. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Other Summerfest attractions include opportunities to adopt a new pet from the Luzerne County SPCA and the Back Mountain Railroad Club, offering a display of model trains, invites everyone to dig out their old trains from basements or attics and run them on the club’s test track.
In addition, Young’s Funny Farm from Berwick will display its therapy animals. A Silent Auction with themed baskets, an inflatable sports arcade and a dunk tank, children’s games, face painting, bee keeping and ceramic art displays, bake sale, plant sale, and picnic food will also be featured. An auction of baked goods and the evening outdoor service will bring the Summerfest to a close.
