Police said they have examined at least seven red Pontiac Grand Ams since a 5-year-old boy was struck and killed as he crossed West North Street on Saturday night.

The latest vehicle inspected by police was in a parking lot along Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard on Monday.

None of the vehicles was believed to be involved in the hit-and-run crash, although information was taken from the car owners, police said.

Kevin Miller, of Dallas, died from injuries when he was struck by a vehicle that police believe is a red Pontiac Grand Am with a sun roof. The car should have front end and side damage.

Police based the description of the vehicle on witnesses and images taken by city and private surveillance cameras.

A camera recorded a vehicle driving on Jackson Street just after Miller was struck.

Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis urged anyone with information about the vehicle to call Wilkes-Barre police at 826-8106 or 911.
