Tunkhannock graduate Mike Papi got back on track by hitting .355 for the Double-A Akron Rubber Ducks during the first 10 days of August.

Papi, a 24-year-old, left-handed hitting outfielder, spent almost a month in his first trip to Triple-A earlier this season with the Columbus Clippers. After batting .215 with a homer and 13 runs batted in during 25 International League games, he was returned to Akron of the Eastern League June 24.

The strong start to August increased Papi’s season average on the Double-A level 11 points to .276. He had two doubles, a homer, six RBI and five runs scored in nine games to begin the month.

For the season, Papi had nine homers and 33 RBI in 78 games through Monday.
