DALLAS TWP. — Marina Orrson won her fifth straight women’s title July 27 when the Susquehanna River Runners Club opened its series of three one-mile runs with a race on the track at Misericordia University.

Orrson is unbeaten in the series over the past five years, winning her 13th straight race to begin pursuit of a five straight sweep of the titles.

The 26-year-old from Shavertown, who ran at Lake-Lehman and Misericordia, won by more than 30 seconds in 5:08.19.

Shelby Foster, 23, of Dallas, was second among female runners in 5:39.11.

Kyle Suponcic, 27, of Shavertown, was third overall in 4:54.22.

Garrett Barr, a 44-year-old of Dallas, won the Masters Division as the first over-40 finisher with a time of 5:45.

Autumn Palma, 12, of Dallas, was the top female finisher in her heat with 7:12.95.

The mile series also includes a race on the paved loop on Church Street in Kingston Aug. 10 and the Breaker Brewing Company Giants Despair Mile Aug. 24.
